Calcipotriol, also known as calcipotriene, is a synthetic derivative of calcitriol, a form of vitamin D. It binds to the VD3 receptor on the cell surface and regulates the synthesis of DNA and keratin in the cell. It can inhibit the excessive proliferation of skin cells (keratinocytes) and induce their differentiation, thereby making psoriatic skin. Abnormal proliferation and differentiation of cells were corrected. At the same time, it regulates the release of cellular inflammatory factors, inhibits inflammatory infiltration and proliferation, and plays an anti-inflammatory role. It is better for the treatment of psoriasis in special areas such as the scalp.
